Mountain Thunder

Previously known as the "Canardlys", they have finally shed their reputation as the guys who can hardly hit, canhardly field, and canardly run. They finally produced a first-place team (got lucky and won the championship once), and everybody likes 'em.

The 2003 season will be fondly remembered by all Canardlys' fans, watching their squad go down to defeat, game after game, each one by only a run or two. However, despite losing their first nine games of the season, the Canardlys' enthusiasm actually grew with each week. Finally, they rallied to crawl out of the basement at the end of the season ... truly a remarkable feat.

In 2004, the team improved, finishing fourth in the playoffs, then inched up to third in 2005. The 2006 season was a disappointment, but they shocked the league with a spectacular finish in 2007, dominating the playoffs to capture the crown. At the end of a ho-hum regular season, the Thunder found itself in third place in a 4-team division. Nevertheless, the team began clicking when the playoffs began, and ended up shocking everyone when the Thunder captured the league championship for the first time in the its history.

In 2008, the Mountain Thunder proved that they were more than just a bunch of guys with good luck. They displayed league dominance all season, and repeated as champs. This time however, they were even more convincing, taking both the regular season crown as well as the winning the playoffs.

2009 proved to be a three-peat for Mountain Thunder. No team had ever done so in league history, but it was not an easy road. The Thunder had a somewhat rocky start, findingn itself staring a the heels of pesky Black Sox all season. The Thunder got the last laugh, however, eekin out a 13th inning victory in the playoffs against that same foe, and the squad was on itsway to its third league championship in a row.

For season 2010, Shadow Diessner has replaced Mike Sofranko as manager, and a number of key free agents have jumped the Dodgers' ship for the sweet smell of coffee up the mountain.
